The Prepper
My brother-in-law is a Prepper, that is to say, he prepares. He collects such things as rations, medical supplies, emergency stuff. Mainly for survival during unforseen events, be it nature or war or what have you.
Anyway- for his birthday I thought I'd play on this idea, and give him a pic to put up in his den or office. This is the result. Enjoy!

Sketchbook Pages
Checking out some old black and white books, did some sketches based on some faces, and some purely from imagination. Bottom pic is just a fun face doodle.

Sketchbook Mash-Up!
A couple of my friends started a Sketchbook event where we all hang out at a local lounge and draw whatever random two topics we draw out of a hat. The first one was 'steampunk solider' and the second was 'monster pixel.' Fun time!

More Retro Posters
More Fallout inspired goodness. I like the tongue in cheek humor of the game, and I thought I'd use that 'nuclear age humor' in a poster for women's makeup products. Tried to limit my color palette to just one red, one yellow, and a near-charcoal-black so the texture would show up better. Enjoy!

Retro Futuristic Cars
I was inspired by the art of Fallout 3, so I thought it'd be fun to experiment with weird retro car shapes. Here's a few sketches from this afternoon. (Bottom two are from a separate afternoon.)

Ziltoid Awakens the Planet Smasher
This is based on a song by Devin Townsend off his album 'Ziltoid the Omniscient'. In this song, Ziltoid awakens the Sixth Dimensional Planet Smasher, who ignores his pleas to destroy a planet 'for the fun of it'.
I was feeling the need to be more spontaneous and humorous to get the creative juices going again, so I decided this was the best thing to do to kickstart that.

Gurg the Cavemaster!
Using some chalk brushes on a sketch I scanned earlier. This one was a lot of fun. Sort of an adventure time style with slightly advanced brush textures. Enjoy!

Whisperwind
This sword's been in my sketch folders for a while, but I hadn't revisited it to finish it up for a few months. Enjoy the results!

Life Drawings
A selection of life drawings from my last couple sessions. Mostly ten minute to five minute poses, maybe one twenty. The topmost one I attempted some highly stylized proportions, more caricature stuff.

Been trying to do some more pen-and-paper stuff lately to test methods of rendering reflections, lighting, etc. Should have more stuff up soon!

The Poison Woman
Since I'm between jobs at the moment, I'm doing a series of characters and environment concepts for a personal project. It's an old-timey four-class shooter or adventure game, not sure at the moment. This is character one of four, The Poison Woman, or Anastasia B. Crowley.
A woman of her mid-sixties, Crowley traveled the world in search of exotic poisons to use in her trade, as she is somewhat of a black widow. Having married and murdered twenty husbands in the last decade, (don't give me that look, they all had it coming) she's taken a bit of a break. After receiving a mysterious invitation, she's set her sights on a mysterious mansion perched atop a gloomy hill. There, three other unique characters have gathered to figure out/fight for the secret of the mansion.
What is it? No one knows.
Save for one person.
His name is Colonel William J. Bonkers.
And this is his mansion.

More CARification
Fun sketch from my sketchbook, colored up in photoshop. Thought it was about time I tried some more vehicles in that flat, cartoony style! Gotta love it.

SAMURON RISES.
As promised, the finalized version! Took a few lunches, but I'm happy with the result. Some said he might make a good megaman villain, and I agree. Though, he'd have to be 'Samuron MAN'. Enjoy!

Ooka Island Adventure
On my portfolio blog at http://timmurrayportfolio.blogspot.com/, there's an update featuring some of my concept work from the kid's game OOKA ISLAND ADVENTURE, a game we finished a few months ago that we're all pretty proud of.

Seabane

I've been playing a lot of Skyrim. I'm usually a Sci-Fi Fanboy, but somehow I gave it a chance. It's fun to say the least. And awesome to say the most. I got a Scimitar in the game and thought I'd run with the idea of a very pirate-like sword.
It might be enchanted. I dunno.

I'm not Dead!

Just busy with work. Mostly. And Fallout.
To show I'm not dead- here's a lunch project of mine I've been concocting over a period of three or four lunch hours. Enjoy!
Update: This and other designs are now on http://conceptships.blogspot.com
Many thanks to them!
The SDI Alleycat was a low-speed, low-altitude multipurpose attack bomber manufactured by SOL Industries Inc. on the third moon of Jinn, a planet in the Beta Cluster. They were used for active combat during:
JW1
JW2
The Third Civil Uprising
The Wyvernian Conflicts
Aging Alleycat fighter-bombers are still used by Mekkan Resistance members in their fight against the Mekkan Regime.
Some recon versions have the weapon equipment replaced with electronic countermeasures as well as camera equipment.
Civilian versions are used as fireships, trainers, and border patrol.

Aquid

Aquid are a flocking creature local to Wyvern, a low grav planet in Beta Cluster. They are a prized delicacy and are commonly collected in groups by Chinese and Japanese spacers. The organ that produces propellant is used as a soup additive and the propellant actuator flaps contain meat that 'can cure aging effects' (known superstition, unproven.)
Earth-Based animal rights group PETA (founded 1980) protests these harvests, as Aquid are known to possess great intelligence, and despite their aggressive appearance, a peaceful nature. As of 2323, there are fewer than 1,000,000 Aquid on Wyvern.

The TF2 Style Returns

Man, I'm having a blast doing these at lunch, I converted the Freighterator one into an in-game spraytag to test it out against the other in-game advertisements, and it measures up!
