Years after the revolution the harbor collapsed into a slum, firetrucks left over from the great riot suppression sit derelict, rotting to their cores, with the city not far behind them.
wow dude this came outta left field. This is fantastic, really great angle, design - as Matt said the contrast is awesome, the lighting on the wheels and surrounding areas especially. very effective!!
I am really a fan of your vehicle designs with full backgrounds to support them - this scene is particularly well done.
Thanks curtis. I did this one as a matte painting actually, made a super low poly truck in blender, staged it, rendered, then made everything else. This was just a test of that so next time it'll be better staged, more populated with details to fill the voids, and probably color.
I have always wanted to work this way, building forms in 3D as a guide for shadow and form.
Stunning and inspiring Tim! 100%
I'd love to see some color thrown over this if you had the time, even a simple contrasting gradient to give it a bit more punch, but as it stands it's beautiful.
I think the only issue I have is the bottom left corner needs a bit more work. Some stronger highlights on things like the grocery cart.
Thanks TJ! Good suggestions too, I'm currently throwing a little color on this one at lunches, and highlights are also on the menu. I'll post 'er soon. I'll admit I was uninspired as to what to throw in the left. I literally went blank.
